Star of Boreas is Proud to Honor Richard “Dick” Kedrowski as the 2008 Recipient of the Sal LoBaido Service Award
The Saint Paul Winter Carnival and Star of Boreas are pleased to announce that Richard "Dick&" Kedrowski is the 2008 recipient of the Sal LoBaido Volunteer Service Award. Kedrowski will be honored at an awards dinner on Monday, January 21 at the Mermaid Event Center in Moundsview.
Kedrowski, a resident of Stillwater, has owned and operated Twin Cities Paper Supply Company in Minneapolis for over 27 years. He has also owned and operated over 350 investment properties, primarily in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, since 1970.
Kedrowski has been extensively involved with the Saint Paul Festival & Heritage Foundation and the Winter Carnival since 1998 when he was named Titan XXXIX. Kedrowski was elected King Boreas in 2003. He has sponsored several members of the Royal Guard, candidates for Queen of the Snows and, along with wife Jeanne, judged for royalty selection in many community festivals.
Dick promotes Foundation membership at every opportunity, says Dr. Gregory Sheehan who nominated Kedrowski for this honor. "Dick is a living, breathing, walking, talking, lead by the best example of Winter Carnival advocate. Dick will never pass up an opportunity to benefit Winter Carnival."
In addition to Winter Carnival activities, Dick and Jeanne have received local, regional and national awards in both Amateur and Professional Ball Room Dance Competitions. Dick was also inducted into the Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in October 2007.
The Winter Carnival relies on it's over 1,000 volunteers to help coordinate a successful festival.
