Winter Carnival Kids Activities - January 26, 27 and February 2, 2008

The Winter Carnival will engage children of all ages with interactive and entertaining activities in the LandmarkCenter’s Cortile each weekend.  Thes

e activities are free and open to the public.

Saturday, January 26

Minnesota Sesquicentennial Coloring Contest
10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Each hour, kids 12 and under at the Sesquicentennial booth will be given 5 minutes to color in a one page from the DNR's Minnesota symbols coloring book.  Then the offficial Sesquicentennial judge will choose a winner.

Teddy Bear Band


10:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Besides the fact that it's so much FUN, the Teddy Bear Band performs with a very simple goal in mind: To entertain, inspire, and support children, families and educators. 

Started by an Early Childhood Teacher and a group of talented musicians (and dads) in 1985, the Teddy Bear Band now plays upwards of 350 shows per year,

as well as providing resource materials and Early Childhood Workshops.

Science Museum of Minnesota’s Cryogenics – The Big Chill


11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 – 2:15 p.m.

The Science Museum of Minnesota will present “Cryogenics - The Big Chill”: chilling feats and freezing cold temperatures using liquid nitrogen.

Wells Fargo Kids Activities


3 - 5 p.m.

Come and check out the variety of family-fun and interactive activities.

Sunday, January 27

Minnesota Sesquicentennial Mosaic Making


10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

In honor of Minnesota’s Sesquicentennial, artist Susan Warner will be leading the creation of a mosaic based on the MN 150 medallion in the Landmark Cortile.

The public is welcome to help her choose and place tiles. When finished, we’ll have a beautiful piece of art to commemorate the Sesquicentennial and the 2008 Winter Carnival.


Kid Spark Kids Activities


10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

From hula hooping to coloring projects, the folks at Kid Spark will keep the kids busy with activities galore.

DJ 80’s


10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Saint Paul's top DJ's will be spinning the best vinyl from the 80's & early 90's for a totally tubular mix of music.  This is one most excellent dance party you won’t want to miss.. its like, for sure!

Radio Disney & ConcordiaLanguageVillage Party Patrol


1 – 2 p.m.

Join Radio Disney AM 1440 and staff from ConcordiaLanguageVillage for a Party Patrol. Play games for great Radio Disney prizes, like DVDs and Radio Disney t-shirts. Listen to some sweet Radio Disney music and have a representative from ConcordiaLanguageVillage teach you how to say hello in a different language.

Ha Family Entertainment
3 – 4 p.m.

H

a Family Entertainment will perform a traditional Lion Dance with live percussion, Chinese dance, music and Shaolin Kung Fu for all ages to enjoy.

          

Saturday, February 2

Pony Pals


Beginning at 9 a.m. outside in the Landmark Plaza

Pony Pals have entertained boys and girls ages 2 to 10 for over 40 years with live pony rides in the Twin Cities area. For a small fee, children can enjoy pony rides outside near LandmarkCenter.

Magician Star Michaelina


11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Magician Star Michaelina presents an original magic show complete with a rare winter blooming flower and a slow motion race between the Vulcans and the Royal Guar


Magician Star Michaelina has created the "coolest card trick on earth" exclusively for the "Coolest Celebration on Earth™."  Come see a high energy magic show the whole family will enjoy.
