Parades, Parades, Parades!

Parades are a favorite of every festival and the Saint Paul Winter Carnival has three to keep you entertained.  Visit all three of these great parades!

Thursday, January 23, 6 p.m. Start

Moon Glow Pedestrian Parade

The Moon Glow Pedestrian Parade will officially kick off the first day of Carnival, January 23, beginning at 6 p.m. in downtown Saint Paul. The public is welcome to join festival organizers and ambassadors, along with neighbors, local business leaders and dignitaries on a cool winter walk from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce offices (401 Robert Street) to Rice Park. Walkers, most with luminaries in hand to light the way, will be greeted at Rice Park by several tethered and illuminated hot air balloons.

  • Free and open to the public, walking parade, all ages welcome
  • Bring your light-up items including glow sticks, lighted hats, gloves and anything else that will help light up the night
  • Location start:  Securian Building/Chamber of Commerce lobby, 401 Robert Street
  • Location end:  Rice Park, enjoy live music, a beverage from the ice bar (including our new King Boreas wine!) and the heat from the hot air balloon baskets.
