Vulcanus Rex 71st - Bob Leach
Vulcanus 71 was a young man when he first became involved with the Vulcan's. His Uncle, Joe Shields was Vulcan Fire King in 1973. In 2002 Bob applied to be part of the Vulcan Krewe and was excepted. Bob became the Prince of Soot for the 2002 Krewe. When his year on the street was finished Bob became part of the Vulcan fraternal organization, the Imperial Order of Fire & Brimstone. The Fire & Brimstone organization works on and leads many civic and community related events and charities around the Twin Cities. Bob is currently 2nd Vice President on the Fire & Brimstone Board of Directors.

Bob is a Registered Nurse and works as Administrative Supervisor for United Hospital in St Paul . He lives with his wife Kathy in St Paul Park . They have three grown children who are all very active with Winter Carnival. One of their daughters was Winter Carnival Royal Guard a few years ago and then in 2007 she was elected again to be Captain of the Royal Guard. Bob's other daughter has been an active member of the "Tax Collectors" which is a hard working group that helps sell Winter Carnival buttons. Bob owns his own fire truck and his son helps in taking care of maintenance and doing the driving for all the events. Vulcanus 71 has a brother who was Sparky on the 2005 Vulcan Krewe and also has his youngest brother with him on this year 2008 Krewe as EB "the young and romantic Vulcan".

Grand Duke Fertilious - Heath Aubin
Heath has been an active supporter of past Winter Carnivals and has had many relatives that have been on past Vulcan Krewe's. He applied for this years Krewe and was elected by his Fire King to be Prime Minister for the 2008 Krewe. The Prime works as the right hand man and aid to his Fire King. Grand Duke Fertilious is always the Vulcan with the most children. Heath and his wife Meghan live in Woodbury with their four young children. He works as an IT Infrastructure Architect for the Microsoft Corporation.

General Flameous - Rich Krivanek
Rich and his wife Vicki have two children and live in Hugo. This year he is General Flameous for the Krewe, the legend is if the Flame dies the Fire King dies and it will be winter forever. Rich is the third person in the last several years that have been employed by the Minnesota Air National Guard. His rank is Tech Sergeant E6, and he is an Aircraft Loadmaster on the C-130's.

Baron Hot Sparkus - Jim Green
Sparky is his given Vulcan name and he is most definitely the spark plug of the Krewe. Jim lives in Bloomington with his wife Kathy. He is employed by Vance Uniform Protection Service. For years Jim has volunteered for many community activities. He has been a volunteer fireman for the Bloomington Fire Department and for the last 18 years he has been an actor at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

Prince of Soot - Dick Kehr
On this years Krewe Dick is known as Sooty, the character Sooty is most times the oldest person on the Krewe. Dick has a long history of giving to the community and the Winter Carnival. In two different years he was a Royal Guard and a Captain of the Guard. In 2002 he was Prime Minister to the Winter Carnival Royal Family. He son was Ferti for the 2007 Vulcan's and Dick decided to come over to hot side of Winter Carnival this year. Dick and his wife Connie live in Coon Rapids and have two grown children. Sooty is retired so he will have plenty of time to devote to his new position with the Vulcan's

Count of Ashes - Jim Tvedt
This year Jim is Ashes the Swinger of the group. Every year it is tradition that Ashes swing upside down by his ankles from a trapeze at one of the events. This take quite a bit of athletic ability and Jim has a long history in many athletic endeavors. Jim is single and has been a long time resident of St Paul . His significant other Mary was a big supporter in Jim's application efforts this year. Jim is currently working for PCL Construction services.

Duke of Klinker - Tim Cole
Tim is Klinker on this years Krewe. The Klinker is the last burning ember, he is the last to go to bed and the first to rise in the morning. Tim lives in North St Paul with his wife Kelly and two teenage sons. For several years he has been very active in the community with both the North St Paul and Minnesota hockey associations. Tim works in Minneapolis as a National Accounts Manager for Jarden Consumer Solutions.

Count Embrious - Dan Leach
As mentioned earlier Dan is the little brother of this years Vulcanus Rex. He was appointed the position of EB the young and romantic one of the Krewe. Being the identity of Vulcanus Rex is always kept a secret Dan did not know he was applying to serve under his brother on this years Krewe.

Dan has been very active with community activities and lives with his wife Nicolette and one son in West St Paul . He works as Director of Maintenance for the Episcopal Church Home of Minnesota.
