Greetings from the "Coolest Celebration on Earth!"

Dear Potential Candidate:

While snowflakes are not yet falling, the search has begun for the five ladies of the realm who will be chosen as the Saint Paul Winter Carnival's 2011 Queen of the Snows and Wind Princesses!

On behalf of the Saint Paul Festival & Heritage Foundation and the Candidate Committee, I welcome you as your quest begins in becoming a member of the 2011 Royal Family. We are delighted that you would like to serve your community with your support of this special Winter Carnival tradition.

As a candidate, you will enjoy a busy and fast-paced schedule of activities, appearances, and helpful workshops. Save the Date! Join us for our Candidate Orientation Night at the Landmark Center in downtown Saint Paul. This orientation will provide you with a calendar and information on the Queen of the Snows Candidate Program.

As you will receive lots of valuable information for your preparation to serve as a Candidate, your attendance is required. Bring along your official application for Queen of the Snows and supporting documents if you have not submitted it already to the Carnival office. Dress code for the evening is business casual. Please arrive on time and allow plenty of extra time for traffic and parking. You will not be reimbursed for any parking expenses.

Our candidate committee looks forward to meeting you; answering your questions about Winter Carnival, and helping you create wonderful memories of your own!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about being a candidate or member of the Royal Family. We want you to be well informed, and of course, excited to be a part of this magical process!

Sincerely,

Bernie Swafford,
